Burdock obtains Australian Labour Agreement

The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has awarded a Labour Agreement Contract to Burdock Australia Pty Ltd (BAPL). The Labour Agreement allows BAPL to employ non-Australian  personnel in the country within various industrial sectors including Energy and Oil & Gas.

The main shareholder of BAPL is Burdock Holding, a resourcing firm based in the Netherlands. Burdock track record, commitment to supporting BAPL, and its financial strength were instrumental in getting the Labour Agreement through the stringent DIAC vetting process. Burdock has at any one time approximately 1200 staff outsourced worldwide. As an organization, Burdock engages in various sectors including Oil & Gas, Energy, Process, Mining, Civil & Infrastructure, Finance and High Tech. Burdock’s Australia office, located in central Perth, West Australia,  is one many established internationally over the last 5 years. Other offices are located in Italy, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Libya, Indonesia, Malaysia, and various nations in the Mideast. The senior management of Burdock business units are typically ex-operations managers and engineers from within the disciplines that Burdock support.  This operational focus is what differentiates Burdock business units from the typical staffing and resourcing firm.

This three-year Labour Agreement places Burdock  in a preferential position as one of a select number of specialist firms who have been awarded labour agreement contracts by DIAC. Labour Agreement forms part of Burdock's long-term strategy to support the development of Australia’s infrastructure and resource industry . The agreement demonstrates the Australian government’s confidence in Burdock’s ability to deliver much needed personnel assets to the industries currently struggling to find qualified  residents to meet the growing labour demands. By investing the time and resources necessary to gain approval for a Labour Agreement Burdock has demonstrated the company's commitment to supporting the growth of the Australian industrial sector.

Koos Ham, CEO, of Burdock Holding says:
“After growing and expanding initially in Europe, Burdock has successfully spread it's wings internationally in recent years, reacting to the increase in demand of experienced professionals in the industry. The recently awarded Labour Agreement allows us to respond quickly to local demand for specialist expertise on projects. The labour agreement comes at a crucial stage of our development in the Australian market and there are already a number of other exciting projects in the pipeline to expand our operations across the region.”

Burdock has
healthy standing relationships with many established multinational companies specializing in infrastructure development and the energy sector.   Through these relationships and  the labour agreement, Burdock is well positioned  to support Australian companies fill their senior project and engineering staff requirements.
